MRC Smart Technology Solutions interview questions

Somewhat of a strange interview process. I received an impromptu call very shortly after applying on LinkedIn. The hiring manager told me that they do not typically interview candidates outside of California - but my resume was impressive enough that they wanted to have a conversation with me. The call lasted about 40 minutes and seemed to go very well. Then I did not hear from anyone at the company for about three weeks. So I decided to follow up via a LinkedIn message. A few days later, I received a call from the same hiring manager, who essentially asked me all the same questions that she already had in our original phone call. She then set me up with a phone interview with the regional manager. This phone call happened the following evening. Throughout the entire call I could hear the individual getting in and out of her car and driving while asking me very generic questions about my previous roles. The following day I received an email saying that they would not be choosing to move forward with my application. The one reason I was given was the fact that I did not provide good answers for why I had left previous roles in my career.
