Had several rounds of interviews. The hiring manager gave assignments to submit in preparation of each interview round (unpaid, of course!). Then, he just ghosted. I followed up for weeks and never heard back. Beyond unprofessional.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Mansueto Ventures in Feb 2023
Interview
For inc magazine: The interview process at this company was very conversational and they didn't really ask too hard of questions. I went through about 6 rounds and was then asked for writing samples. I shared those and then was also asked to complete a project which took multiple days to do. I was excited about the opportunity so I did indeed do the project, which landed in a verbal offer. Once I got my verbal offer, we talked about salary, my start date and they called my references. I spent 2 weeks being told my offer letter was "coming soon" all for me to ultimately get an email saying that they had to pivot the role which I see actually meant that they went with a different candidate. Would have been nice to not have received that verbal so soon and had them actually complete the interview process with all candidates properly.

Interview
I sat down with pretty much the entire development team and the HR person, and they interviewed me in rounds. They asked about my background, experience, how I approach things, favorite music, etc. It was a very well rounded and personal experience. I only had one interview in the entire process, which was surprising. They seemed to go out of their way to get everyone I would be working with to talk to me.

Question 1
Simply the varied questions and how the interview was almost like a discussion was what was unexpected.
