I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Mathnasium (London, ON) in Oct 2016
Interview
First, we discussed my educational background (it's mathy) and tutoring experience. This was pretty relaxed and informal. Second, I wrote the secondary school level math test the company gives. Having a grasp of the first two units of grade 10 math (Ontario), a bit of grade 9, and grade 12 Advanced Functions comprises most of the material. Lastly, we talked about the company method. I was told that a hire was almost certain, but was contacted later and told that I would not be hired, due to my searching for work in another field, which made me likely to not be worth investing in over other candidates, essentially.
it was a 2 round interview , first one being a screening video interview sand the second one being a math proficiency test that had straightforward K-12 Math questions going til pre-calculus 12
Proficiency exam in mathemical and numeric reasoning topics typical of grades K-12. Professional qualifications as well as mathematical aptitudes are tested and examined. Analysis of previous work experiences and it's application for the instructor role at Mathnasium.
