I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mattress Firm in Jun 2018
Interview
Video interview with pre-recorded questions. You get to practice response before you record. The interview questions were very entry-level and childish. Clearly not looking for a manager material.

Question 1
If you were helping a customer and another customer walked-in and the phone started ringing, what would you do?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Mattress Firm (Everett, WA) in Oct 2018
Interview
2 attempts 1.5 years apart. 1st was in person only an hour drive and I felt it went swimmingly but no go. 2nd was an online video upload to online questions with time and practice limits. I gave up practicing for every question and just went for it. I ignored the offer to wear whatever was comfy, put on a button down and tie. A week went by and they notified me by email I was moving on to a live interview near me. The reason they hired me was because I had studied their sales process and culture by visiting more than 2 stores and talking at length with salespeople and taking notes and memorizing key words like "closing" and "guest" and "sleep issues" Then during the live interview I attempted a "close" by assuming the sale and asking when I would start. It worked because that's exactly what they want.

Question 1
How would you respond if a guest called the store on the phone with an issue with their purchase ?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Mattress Firm (Richmond, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
It was a phone interview and it was very brief. It was a great experience. The interview just felt really smooth and easy. No pressure. He told me that he loved my energy and that he thinks ill be a great accessory to the team.
