I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Michaels (New York, NY) in Jun 2015
Interview
I applied a couple weeks prior to landing an interview, so it was pretty unexpected getting a call out of the blue from the store manager asking me to set up an interview. The process took a few weeks since they were getting ready to open up a store in a new location. When I got to Michaels for the interview scheduled a week after I received the call, it went well. The store manager interviewed me and immedietly had given me a good friendly vibe. I was hired on the spot and told to come back a month later for orientation since that would be around the time this new location would be ready.
Easy and quick, pretty laid back process. It's an initial phone call to screen/schedule an in person interview and then the in person interview lasted about 15 minutes. Pretty conversational and standard questions.
Fast. Very friendly. Questionnaire!!!! But process goes quick. Manager is friendly and interview went fine. Super friendly conversation. Seasonal is easier to enter. After season is over it is easy to stay as a permanent employee.
