I recently went through Terumo Neuro’s interview process, and it was genuinely one of the most disorganized and disrespectful experiences I’ve had in my career. After 7 interviews, speaking with 10 people, completing an onsite, and spending hours preparing, traveling, and adjusting my schedule, the only feedback I received was that they “had other candidates who were a better match.” No specifics. No role-related explanation. Nothing meaningful after a massive time investment. At this stage of a process, candidates deserve real feedback—not canned, vague lines. A senior leader even described my background as “some good experience,” which was not only dismissive but flat-out inaccurate. I was overqualified for the Senior Specialist-level role, and that comment set the tone for how candidates are viewed: minimized and undervalued. The biggest red flag, however, was the complete lack of transparency around a key team member (the hiring manager) being terminated mid-process—something that directly impacted the role’s structure and reporting line. This was not communicated until well after the fact. Overall, the process felt misleading, opaque, and unnecessarily time-intensive. As a candidate, I was left with the impression that Terumo Neuro’s recruiting function is poorly managed and out of alignment with basic standards of professionalism and respect. If this is how they treat a top candidate, imagine what it's like working there. Not getting this job is a blessing in disguise. Best of luck to whoever gets this role, its gonna be a doozy.
