      Project Manager Coordinator Interview

      18 Oct 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at MobiLab Solutions

      Interview

I underwent a three-part interview process included: 1. Recruiting assessment 2. Technical interview 3. Cultural fit evaluation. This entire process spanned over four weeks. It began with the assignment of two tasks that required a substantial investment of my time and effort. Subsequently, the recruiting manager informed me of an upcoming technical interview. Unfortunately, the technical interview left much to be desired. Rather than delving into a detailed discussion of my work, the questions primarily revolved around whether I saw myself fitting into the company culture as a "PMC." Surprisingly, there were no inquiries regarding the tasks I had submitted, making me feel that the effort put into those tasks had been in vain. The cultural fit interview, initially planned as an in-person meeting, was abruptly shifted to an online format on a short notice. The interview was extremely uncomfortable, and was conducted by the managing directors, who focused their questions on my professional experience and what am I doing right now and how do I handle my work. This emphasis on work experience raised doubts about whether this interview truly assessed cultural alignment? I was asked about the company's virtues and how do I see them from my perspective, after answering all their questions I didn't get the feeling that they were impressed or at least unimpressed, as the other person was working on something else at the same time. Moreover, when we broached the topic of salary, the conversation took an unexpected turn. When I inquired about the offered salary range, both managing directors responded with a level of aggression, citing time constraints and pressing me to disclose my salary expectations first. This behavior, particularly in a scheduled 45-minute interview with ample time, raised significant concerns. I did not receive any good vibes or feelings and no appreciation because when we reached to the end, they were in a hurry to end the call. Despite assurances of an impending offer and an invitation to visit their offices, my hopes were dashed when I received a rejection letter. This letter lacked any justification or mention of the promised offer or office visit. My attempts to seek feedback were met with silence, a stark departure from the company's prior responsiveness and frequent short-notice requests. In sum, my overall assessment of this interview process leads me to conclude that it was a total regrettable waste of time, marked by a lack of respect for the efforts I had invested and a notable degree of unprofessionalism.

We would like to clarify that we typically review and discuss the tasks submitted by candidates as part of the evaluation process. It seems there may have been some miscommunication or misunderstanding and we apologize for any confusion. Cultural Interview: The final round of interviews at our company may be conducted onsite or virtually, depending on individual circumstances, visa requirements, and mutual availability. The virtual interview is not a disadvantage and has equal weight and it’s our common practice.
