I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Monterey Bay Aquarium
Interview
HR screening call was pleasant and transparent. First round interview was with two team members and focused on behavioral questions such as how to manage colleagues, international teams, and ambiguity.

Question 1
How have you worked with colleagues to effectively adopt the use of a new tool or system?
I applied online. I interviewed at Monterey Bay Aquarium (Monterey, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
3 interviews. first interview they gave me a few option to pick from in order. I did. Then they told me they couldn't do those, so they gave me two separate options. I picked one. They said they couldn't do that one either. I was like whatever you can do. I finally had that interview. Then I had an interview with HR. I took the day off because it was at 1:00 pm. They emailed me an hour before the interview saying the HR person "left the office" because they were sick. A few days later, when I did have the interview, the HR person told me they had never been to the office because they couldn't afford living in the area so they worked virtually. Like what? It was quite disturbing the lack of professionalism throughout the whole process. The interview wasn't difficult but the mediocre management of interviewing was quite unfortunate. Little integrity.

Question 1
How you would work with children of differing abilities.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Monterey Bay Aquarium
Interview
They use a recruitment agency (One Source), who reached out fairly quickly for a 30-minute phone screen. That interview went well, and they were very transparent about next steps. I waited another 3 weeks to interview with the education department. This was a 1-hour zoom interview with two people. They were both kind and seemed to genuinely care about their work. They told me they would follow up within two weeks, but I never heard back. I followed up directly with the education team twice to ask about following steps. 6 weeks later, and 3 months after applying for the position, I received an email from the recruiting agency saying that they have decided to move forward with other candidates.
