I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at NAC (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2016
Interview
The interview was long and drawn out although I knew that the job was already mine. There was a three person panel and we just chatted on why I wanted this job and how I can improve the company.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at NAC (Burlingame, CA) in May 2019
Interview
1. Within the first 5 minutes of the interview the interviewer immediately started trash talking subordinates regarding the volume of their voice. After another minute of not paying attention to me, the interviewer walked out of the interview in the meeting room to scold them. Although I heard nothing and sat for 5 minutes waiting before the interview, for the interviewer to show up. (lack of respect for canidates time)
2. I came prepared with questions and took notes, the interviewer rudely started looking at my questions / notes. Actually leaned over the table and pointed at my paper! The interviewer could not talk without looking at my notes and even after I moved them 3 times. This is unprofessional and rude without saying and guarantee the interviewer has no privacy considerations of others (possibility goes though colleagues desks at night). Definitely a red flag for any canidate and privacy concern for any employer.
3. The interviewer says that there's only one person on the team and I am certain no one will want to work for this interviewer for long, as control issues, and confrontational ego is evident within 5 minutes of meeting. I think the internet comments of high turnover are accurate.
4. I don't think the interviewer is qualified to lead a team or department given the unprofessionalism, passive aggressiveness, and lack of professional ethical behavior this interviewer displayed right from the beginning. At minute 5, I wanted nothing more than to leave and never come back, I was speechless . Take a moment to look at the office, everyone appeared to be disconnected and unhappy.
5. The interviewer described the product that has no growth potential and their incompetence will continue to see this company decline. The product is sub-par to the competition .
6. The interviewer kept saying this is a "Conservative" company. At that point, I knew it about appearance not skills and from the moment the interviewer opened the door it was a frown and condescending comments from beginning to end. Worst interview ever!
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NAC in May 2011
Interview
A few days after I submitted my resume, I was emailed by the organization's admin to set up a phone interview, which was then scheduled a few days out. Phone interview lasted about half hour, which is longer than I expected, but I interpreted that to be a good sign. Few days later, I was emailed an invitation to in-person interview with the Controller and VP Finance, which we scheduled for later in the week. People I interviewed with were open about the challenges they faced and clear about what the expectations were.
