I applied online. I interviewed at NPR (Washington, DC) in May 2017
Interview
The interview process included a series of telephone and in-person interviews with various department members. They did well on the phone to establish initial qualifications and the in-person interviews are more about culture-fit. I did plenty of homework prior to both rounds of interviews and seemed to perform adequately.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at NPR (Washington, DC) in Sept 2017
Interview
I received an unscheduled phone call from the immediate supervisor (not HR) - and was asked if I could talk right then. I was at a cafe and couldn't hear very well but stepped outside to take the call and answer the questions as best I could.
