I was contacted by a recruiter from their company via LinkedIn and asked to apply if I was interested in the job description. I applied and was sent some questions to answer. I answered the questions and then was selected to interview with the Controller. The recruiter had a hard time sending me a teams invite with the correct date & time. After we spoke and set a time that worked I was sent a time that didn't work, when I reached out to him. He told me that it was his fault but the Controller had already accepted the invitation and he made zero effort in changing the time. I then declined the interview and was then given the time we originally agreed on. Had the interview with the Controller & another member of the team via teams. The Controller seemed cold, short, and acted like the interview was a waste of her time. The other team member was nice & cordial. She informed me that the Controller is very direct & blunt. The next day, I was sent a generated email saying that I was not chosen for the position AND a message on linkedin from the recruiter telling me that the Controller told him that I didn't have any accounting experience and I wasn't prepared for the interview. How is one not prepared to go over their own resume? The generated message saying I wasn't moving forward was sufficient, I don't need a rude email. Getting a message like that makes me very happy that I didn't end working for such a horrible organization that thinks they can send people insults when they are not chosen. There is a tactful way to give criticism and that was not it. Clearly he has no HR experience.
