I applied online. I interviewed at NanoLumens (Duluth, GA) in May 2021
Interview
Informal, laid back, and was done by would-be coworkers rather than any managers. They emphasized great importance on choosing people who "fit their culture" as much as experience. I am not sure how to describe the "culture" there, but the department I was interviewing for were all in their late 20s early 30s. I am 43 years old and had at least 6 more years of experience than both of my interviewers. They were all pretty friendly and the office seemed peaceful. Pretty great product as well.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Basic and generic interview questions. The interview was about 50% telling me about the company and 50% interview questions.
Simple interview, review resume and experience. If you've taken any 3D CAD classes, preferably Solidworks, that's the experience they're looking for. The rest is fit, they have a nice culture. They always use their coops very well, you will get great experience
Very fair to younger students wanting to break into engineering. Want to know you and personality, only need the minimum experience in Solidworks to be a mechanical coop, rest is gravy
