I applied online. I interviewed at Nationwide Guard Services (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) in May 2014
Interview
I saw their ad on Craigslist for a security officer. I emailed them and they contacted me to schedule an interview. I arrived at their office where they had me fill out an application. They also asked for copies of my guard card, other certificates, and social security card. I informed them I would only show them my social once I had been offered employment. While waiting another person kept knocking on the door because they did not know it was unlocked. The entire time the receptionist just sat there starring at the door & commenting how that person was an idiot.
During the interview I was asked a series of typical security guard interview questions. Such as how long I'd been in security. How long I deal with difficult people. All appeared to be going well until the interviewer how long I planned to be with the company. I informed her 6 months to a year, because I do have a college degree and am looking for a career in the field I studied. The interviewer also mentioned that the starting pay was minimum wage for the first 90-days and that once that time was up I would not receive a raise, but that I had to put in a request for a raise. Yes, a request. This means the request and the amount requested can be denied.
