I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Nebraska Public Power District (Hallam, NE) in Apr 2026
Interview
Phone interview was first (through a teams meeting), followed by an in-person meeting at a facility. They notified me about their decision regarding the position roughly two weeks after the in-person interview.

Interview
Interview consisted of a phone interview with HR rep, hiring manager, and a team member from the hiring team. Questions were fairly basic, as it was more getting a sense of my background rather than technical skills. Was told at the end it would be "about a week" to get a decision, then the next step would be an in-person interview. Two weeks went by with no word at all. Reached out to HR and was told that there was an "unexpected delay" and they would be making decisions early the next week about in-person interviews. Waited until that Friday and reached out again only to be told they had already hired an internal candidate. Essentially, they were ghosting me and hoping I wouldn't follow up. Interviewers were friendly, but this was an unprofessional process.
All you have to do is complete the paper application and turn it into the city office. Someone from the park board will call you to tell you whether you got the job or not.
