They asked me to do a design challenge for them, and it has a tight dl. the recruiter sounded all cheerful etc. and said they would then bring me onsite. they didn't. But what left an impression was just how fake the recruiter seemed to be. They indicated that a design challenge would guarantee an onsite. A design challenge was NOT THE WAY a legit company hires for a design role at all - putting aside the "free labor" argument, it is unfair to have a candidate do so much work while you don't even bother to give feedback. Not to say: a design challenge cant show the candidacy of a designer at all. All in all, not a tech company and dont expect them to respect understand and value design.
