      Marketing Specialist Interview

      15 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Princeton, NJ
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at NetElixir (Princeton, NJ)

      Interview

I thought they were moving efficiently. Preliminary screening, 2nd round was with 2 team leaders that asked great, challenging questions. The 3rd interview was a mock presentation, however, no heads up was given. I did my best and was judged based off of that. I found the interviews challenging but challenging is good. However, I found the mock presentation with no heads up (and only 30 minute prep) very unfair. In real life marketing, we have the ability to be more prepared and even utilize Google. However, I was asked questions to throw me off. Being judged for being put on the spot like that is not the way to go but it is what it is. I also know people who have interviewed here in the past and have been ghosted.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad to hear you found the interview questions engaging and our team leaders thoughtful. We also appreciate your honesty about your third interview experience. At NetElixir, we occasionally include impromptu exercises in our interview process because many of our client interactions require quick thinking, adaptability, and the ability to structure ideas under time constraints. While we know this can feel challenging, it helps us assess how candidates might perform in real-world situations where preparation time is limited. That said, we take your feedback seriously and will continue to review our process to ensure it balances fairness with the skills we aim to evaluate. Thank you again for interviewing with us, and we wish you the very best in your career.
