I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at New Directions Technologies (Port Hueneme CBC Base, CA) in Nov 2015
Interview
It was a small panel of the director, a network engineer in the department and the lead manager. Very informal and friendly. I have extensive background in networking, server and helpdesk support, so they really wanted to know which position I was interested in. The lead engineer was very satisfied with my background and mentioned there were several projects he could hand over pretty quickly. The lead manager was more reserved and skeptical. There was a drawing with work processes unique to Cyber Security that he pointed to and quizzed me on what each phase/acronym meant. I got about 80 % of them since I was in a Cyber Security program that covered these areas. He was surprised that I knew so many since I had not worked for that military branch.

Question 1
Do you understand that the Information System Security Engineer position is not a hands on technical position but one more of an auditor and that there would be a lot of documentation to support the customer security accreditation requirements?
