The first few steps of my interview process with New Engen/Donut Studios went perfectly well, until I made it to the 3rd or 4th round—the next step was going to be a take-home assessment but I was told that they had to temporarily pause on interviewing to address a company-wide backlog of work and internal planning, and they'd be in touch within a month or two to resume. When they finally did reach back out to resume, I replied immediately confirming I was still interested in the job and to send over the assessment. They then NEVER got back to me, no matter how many times and different methods I tried—I emailed my HR point person several times and messaged them directly a few times on Linkedin, I emailed their general inquiry inbox, messaged their LinkedIn page, nothing. Incredibly frustrating experience to have to pause the process, be told it's resuming, and then get ghosted immediately after, and beyond unprofessional on their end.

Me (minutes later): Yes! Let me know the next steps
Them: *crickets
I went through 3 interview rounds, meeting the HR director and senior HRBP, only to learn that I was being used for interview practice so they can get ready to interview other candidates.
The last interview with the senior HRBP, she didn't even try to hide the fact that I was being used for practice where I was asked 10 questions back to back soley for the purpose of trying to figure out if these questions were suitable for other candidates.
What a complete joke of a company and waste of time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at New Engen
Interview
I interviewed for the Paid Search Associate role at New Engen a while ago and found the process to be far more demanding than expected for such an entry-level position. The interview cycle included six rounds as well as an assessment to complete, which felt a bit excessive and exhausting. Throughout the interviews, I was repeatedly told I was "so articulate" and "so professional," which came off as oddly condescending rather than encouraging.
While New Engen promotes a collaborative and innovative culture, my experience left me questioning whether their hiring procedures reflect those stated values. I hope more than anything that this review helps others prepare for what could be a lengthy and, at times, uncomfortable process.
