I applied online. I interviewed at New Era Events (Fort Collins, CO) in Jan 2021
Interview
I walked into an empty office a few minutes before the interview. There wasn't anybody in the hall, or anywhere I could find. There was inappropriate music playing on a speaker, and contradictory music playing on the laptop in the office. A whiteboard in a conference room instructed me to sit down and fill out an application.
When the manager showed up late, he wasn't wearing a mask, and seemed a little too informal. I continued working on my application while he watched a loud self encouragement video in his office. When he called me in, he asked me to take off my mask for the interview, and summarize my self.
At no point did he do more than glance at my application, or resume. I got the impression that my experience had nothing to do with the interview. They were just looking for warm bodies to stand outside a shop and ask for money for the charity that they supposedly give all their profit to.
This actual job description had nothing to do with the job posted online. On top of that, the "charity work" is commission based.
I'm not sure I've ever had a less formal interview. The manager seemed to be under the influence of alcohol, or drugs despite it being mid-morning. He was really struggling with words, and his eyes were half-lided.
This is definitely a scam, and I have deep concerns about them using a charity as their cover.
Run away. This is a sales job that they try to confuse you with a way too broad job description. This company has only ATTENDED not helped organize one event that I was shown (included with pictures of celebrities to pull me in). When I was asked for round two of the interview I was told I would be meeting someone to shadow in the field, the "field" was a Panda Express in Thornton. Run.
