Got a call from the publisher, who offered to buy lunch and discuss opportunities with the newspaper. An informal chat mostly, covering ground familiar to us both. We'd had a history as I had written numerous cover stories for the publication and the publisher like my work and wanted to know if I'd come on board full time in a management role.

Questions were directed mostly to my interest in working at the newspaper. The publisher showed keen interest in my history as a freelancer with the publication and wondered if I would be interested in coming on full-time as a utility player.
