I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at New York Life (Waltham, MA) in Mar 2014
Interview
3-4 meetings with different parts of management over 3-4 weeks. Mostly throw flashy numbers at you to entice you. They want you to work for them because you can never have too many agents for an insurance company. They explain how you will be paid, and the step by step process for the first year and where you should be by the end of it.

Interview
Extensive vetting. Requires you to become licensed for life insurance, after which point you'd have follow up interviews before ultimately moving forward. You need recommendations, and you'll have to conduct some introductory surveys with people who are supportive of you, and these surveys will actually benefit you down the road as you start your career.
The interview process was straightforward and comfortable. The questions were clear, allowing me to express my thoughts easily. Overall, it felt supportive and friendly, making it an enjoyable experience. Thank you!
