I received a call from a recruiter agency and was subsequently connected with the direct HR team at Newgen. The interview process was rather extensive, consisting of approximately 6-7 rounds. First, I had a 15-minute call with a senior HR representative. During this call, we discussed my technical skills and previous projects. Following this, I had my first technical discussion, which went quite smoothly. Afterward, I engaged in another technical discussion with a Team Lead, lasting approximately 15 minutes. This conversation mainly centered around topics such as JWT and security. The subsequent phase of the process involved 3 separate HR discussions. To my surprise, these 3 HR discussions were remarkably similar, with identical questions and topics being covered in each one. After these discussions, the HR team informed me that I would have a client round. During the client round, it was evident that the client was in a hurry and didn't seem particularly interested in hearing my answers . After this round, the HR team contacted me regarding onboarding. However, the package they offered was lower than what had been discussed during the previous 3 HR discussions. I mentioned that I had another job offer, but they did not accept my expected package. Ultimately, I decided to agree to their offer because the job location they proposed was exactly what I was looking for. This led to my rejection of the other job offer I had received. However, the next day, my attempts to contact Newgen went unanswered, and my calls were not returned. Frustrated, I reached out to the senior HR representative, who informed me that I did not meet their eligibility criteria and that there were no openings for that location. My experience with Newgen was deeply disappointing, and it left me feeling as though they had wasted my time and provided me with false assurances. This interview process turned out to be one of the most disheartening experiences, and it's unfortunate that it seemed to disregard the value of candidates' time and efforts.
