      Health Coach Interview

      21 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pittsburgh, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Noom (Pittsburgh, PA) in Aug 2018

      Interview

VERY lengthy and time consuming. After applying to the position, I was contacted via email to set up a video interview on Zoom. All contact was through email before the video interview and the girl was very helpful with setting up the Noom app and provided very detailed instructions. Once the video interview started, I was expecting a very professional set-up. I specifically dressed in business-casual apparel and made sure I was in a quiet, professional location. My interviewer, however, was in sweatpants and a hoodie, laying in her bedroom. Ok, laid-back company I thought. She was very brief and short on the video chat, it took approximately 10 minutes instead of the 30 minutes. She instructed me on the next part of the interview which was a mock-coaching between myself and my client (her) on the Noom app. Everything started on time but this process was REALLY lengthy and frustrating. Overall, this whole interview took about two hours from start to finish. I truly felt as if I was over qualified for this position, but I wanted to gain additional experience to add to my resume and the position was work-from-home which was tremendously helpful as I was going back for additional schooling, so I was starting from the bottom. I have degrees in Exercise Physiology and nutrition, am a certified exercise physiologist, have experience in motivational interviewing, personal training, and health coaching. One would assume I would be a stellar candidate for a position such as this, and even still after ALL of this time, they said they were moving forward with another candidate. Although confused and irritated because of my qualifications, I understood how the application and interview process worked and wanted to politely thank them for the opportunity and ask for feedback. They sent a message saying that "due to time constraints, they could not provide feedback"..... SUPER unprofessional in my opinion. I just feel as if candidates are going to invest hours into an interview and have more than the minimum requirements for this position, the least you can do is provide the feedback and accept their thanks and appreciation. Whether I was offered this position or not, I would STILL feel that this entire process and company was unprofessional. From the video interviewer laying in her bed in sweats and then failure to provide any sort of feedback, I just think this looks poor for a company. Perhaps it was just MY experience, but I think this reflects negatively on a company.

      Interview

POOR. Sucked. The interviewer seemed very young and ageist. It seems like this girl would have rather been looking at her phone and responding to texts than interviewing someone for a job position—worst experience ever!!
