I applied for role with nordcloud and was offered a position as a devops engineer, the confirmation was done over phone and I also got a email from HR offering the position. I went back to nordcloud to see if they will cover my full travel costs from my house their client sites, a week later they came back saying no, so I tried to ask if there was any room for increase on the salary, they offered me £65k but I'm paid £63k plus I currently get 10k on call so I was willing to take a cut buy not by too much.
I kept following up with HR once a week and she tells me that the county sales a manger isn't getting back. I had already informed my work that I would be leaving soon.
Another week passed, I got an email saying there is a cap at 65k we wish you all the best. I went back to HR to say I didn't want to remove myself from the process I was just trying to negotiate, HR said we would love to still take you on. Again it went quite so two days later I followed up. I then got an email from HR saying the requirement has changed we want someone with more Azure knowledge, we wish you all the best.
If anyone is applying for a role here be very careful! The company is run by one guy the country sales manager. He overalls all HR decisions, HR is located outside UK.
I wish I didn't waste so much time in the process, I've never known a company like this but they are small, I wonder how they conduct business with their clients as they are pretty ruthless guys. I have to explain to my work that they retracted the role due to me trying to negotiate the salary.
I can also see on online that they have posted the job the moment I asked about room for salary increase so they knew a long time ago that they wasn't taking me on board
This actually might be for the better not joining a company which runs like this, my company HR would never change the requirement after they have offered a position so that tells me a lot. HR did at least call to say that they are unhappy with how this has been handled, but it's out of their control. Clients are future employees take note!
