The interview was pretty standard until they handed me paperwork where I had to fill out contact information for my friends and family and submit to them within a week, so that they could be contacted about Northwestern Mutual's products/services.

Total Scam, do not do this. They will just ask for contacts to sell life insurance too. Very unethical, they just want to have access to more potential clients. Make it seem like interview process is going great, but in reality they will take anyone they can get to sell life insurance to close friends and family.
