      Label Compliance Interview

      7 Feb 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Norcross, GA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NutraCap Labs (Norcross, GA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

If I had one word to describe the interview experience with Nutracap Labs, it would be chaos. For example, I was told 2 different job titles, job descriptions and salaries by various individuals at the company within a span of 2 weeks. My first conversation was with the Director of HR who gave me a brief description of the position, which included the title, the number of direct reports (3), the salary range and that it would be remote. I was fine with what was presented, thus an interview was scheduled, however with different people than I was originally told by the Director, which didn't bother me at the time because sometimes these things happen. When I showed up online for the interview, only 1 of the 3 people were there, which led to the decision by this person to have the interview be rescheduled despite the person that was present, I would later find out, would be the individual I would report to and work with the most. This person could have relayed more details about this position while we waited for their manager who was going to be 10 minutes late. And as I suspected, the 3rd person who was out sick that day didn't need to be there at all and had only been on the invite because they scheduled the interview. I think this person lacked confidence because they seemed relatively new in their role. For the rescheduled interview, the other person was on time while the other was not and chose to proceed with the interview anyways, which was a good decision. What surprised me the most about this experience with the exception of the first call was that the interviewers did not know my name. The second aspect that surprised me the most was that the job description, title and salary had changed. For example, I no longer had direct reports, I would be second chain in command with label review and my salary had decreased significantly from what was discussed with HR. It also seemed the interviewers were concerned that it was a remote position even though this was the only option because I live in a different state and relayed to the employee who referred me to this company that I would be unable to relocate. Despite all of this, at the end of the interview, we were all happy and smiling. They seemed very positive about the interview and how they felt towards me as a candidate. The only concern seemed to be my salary that I was requesting. When I followed up after the interview, I was told they were in the process of interviewing other candidates and the Director of HR would reach out to me. I found this suspicious because they did not have a job posting relevant to the job I interviewed for on any job site including their own company website. I haven't heard back from them, and to be honest, I'm okay with that. Since then I have been offered a job at a company I have admired for a couple of years. I hope moving forward this company makes sure to create written job descriptions for all positions and ensure hiring managers review resumes before approving and interviewing candidates. Additionally, interviewers should be on time and organizers should be clear on who should be present at the interviews.
