This process was very easy and seemed to verify I could interact with people. It was in the furniture section of the store and was with the store manager at the time.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at OfficeMax (Rochester, NY) in Feb 2010
Interview
They want you to be able to sell Max Assurances... their warranty plans. If you show some knowledge of printers, being able to communicate with customers, etc. they will hire you. The ask you the normal, "why do you want to work here?" questions. As long as you don't mind doing other things.(cashier, stocking, print department).
