Interview
One needs to send an application form, grade sheet of latest semester and 10th & 12th mark sheets and they select you based on that. You can also get selected by getting referrals from employees of ONGC. I was selected on both grades and referrals for my approval.I had a brief interview before being selected.
I got the internship here by there genral application process, where they just select few students based on their academic achievements and the marks you have obtained in all the semesters.

it was totally through application process . we have to send our documents in ongc campus then they mail us about any update like when to join if we selected there.
