The interview was conducted using the STAR methodology, which I believe is an appropriate way to assess candidates' experience and problem-solving skills.
Based on the job description, I felt that my technical background, transferable experience, and skills aligned well with the responsibilities of the Technical Engineer position. I answered the behavioral questions using relevant examples from my professional experience, although, as a candidate, it was difficult to determine how my responses were ultimately evaluated.
One aspect that I believe is worth reflecting on is the importance of ensuring that hiring decisions are perceived as objective, transparent, and based solely on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated competencies. As an immigrant professional, I sometimes have the impression that factors unrelated to merit may influence hiring outcomes. Whether or not that is the case, increasing transparency and providing meaningful feedback to unsuccessful candidates would help build greater confidence in the fairness of the recruitment process.
Overall, I appreciate the opportunity to interview and encourage continued efforts to ensure that all candidates are evaluated consistently, fairly, and without bias.
