I applied online. I interviewed at Oxford Nanopore Technologies (Oxford, England) in Jun 2025
Interview
The first round of the interview was informal, and I had a chat about the work and the role itself with a director. Then, some chat about how much I knew about nanopore sequencing and the company itself. Laid-back. Then ghosted despite multiple follow-up emails (maybe 4), only to be rejected. Do better; it is not hard to send an email.

Interview
First step was an in-depth CV review with the hiring manager. It was one of the better interview experiences I've had, the hiring manager was absolutely great. He showed a genuine interest in knowing more about all of my past projects (instead of a rapid fire ML quiz I'd gotten at my other interviews) and we ended up talking beyond the scheduled one hour. Second step was a short technical interview with one of the engineering leads.
However, after this they took a month to get back because of Xmas break and all. I was told that the role had been offered to someone else, which was disappointing as I would have been very keen to join.
