I was interviewed three times in person and once on the phone. I drove from out of town to Fort Worth for all of the in-person interviews and in the end they declined me over an email 3 weeks after all of this. Took about 5 weeks.
I had a phone screen, then they invited me in. The first 2 interviews went very well, friendly panels of lower level employees. The last interview included some higher-ups and they really grilled me on technical questions. I had very little experience (which my resume showed and was brought up in previous interviews) But I believed I showed the initiative to learn the position.
I understand wanting to do your due diligence and wanting someone with more experience than I had, however making someone drive in-person to an interview 3 times, to decline them over an email is unprofessional.
Also it was for a position that made like $35k/year so just not worth it.
