After being persistently contacted by HR, I applied for the position (to which I was rather well qualified). There were two interviews, one with the hiring manager and another with the overall department leader. To summarize, what was expected/asked with the requirements in the listing did not align with what they wanted.
The first interview was fine but the second interview was shocking. What the "big boss" was asking had little to do with the role's desires/requirements and were in fact some very specific and intrusive questions on how my current employer operates.
I was obviously not offered the job. If my knowledge and actual experience was desired, they should have offered me the position instead of looking for freebies. At no point was I able to get a clear figure on salary, by the way. At a few occasions I felt the remote aspect of the role was to simply draw in more candidates without intent on pursuing them.
