I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PartsTech (Boston, MA) in Aug 2024
Interview
Was submitted for the role by a recruiter. 5 hours of interviews with 6 different individuals over 2 sessions.
Met first with the CTO and Director of Engineering separately. Both were very transparent about the challenges they are facing. Asked questions appropriate to the role
Next was with developers, product manager and engineering manager. Developers ask standard tech questions from a prepared list it seemed. Product manager was interested in my views and experience in product/development interaction. Engineering manager has some standard questions but also broad hypothetical architectural questions about solving some of their current issues. Was difficult to know how to frame those answers without knowing what parts of the question to address most.
Response was pretty quick

Question 1
Describe how you would re-architect a monolithic application
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PartsTech in Jul 2024
Interview
Applied for position online and was reached out to by a recruiter, Kelli, who was absolutely wonderful and really sold me on the role and company enough to get invested in the process which looked like the following:
-45 minute interview w/ Director of Engineering
-45 minute interview w/ Lead Engineer
-3 back-to-back 45 minute interviews with VP of Product, Senior Product Manager, and another Product Manager
-Finally two back-to-back interviews w/ CTO and an Engineering Manager
All of these were conversational in nature and about past experience or projects worked on, no technical assessment whatsoever. Generally pretty pleasant conversations, with a lot of ground that was covered multiple times or repeated questions between the many interviews. About a week after the final interview received a very robotic sounding rejection email that did offer to provide more feedback if needed, but when attempting to reply to said email asking for feedback received an error about the email address being inactive and unable to be reached, so I had no way of actually contacting PartsTech again.

Interview
Amazing job by Kelli, I knew every step of the process, who I was meeting with, and what the agenda was. A phone call, meeting the Hiring Manager in Google Meet, and then a final Panel interview, meeting others on the team.
