Interview
I applied for the job on JournalismJobs.com. They typically only hire from that website. Initial interview was over the phone, at which point they sent me a writing test and an editing test. Once I passed those two items, I received an offer. The process took just over three weeks, and I was hired without an on-site visit because I was from out of state.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Paxton Media Group (Paducah, KY)
Interview
I spoke with the Executive Editor and News editor for about an hour the first time. I really liked both of them. I talked to the executive editor a few times on the phone and then met with them again and accepted their offer.

The editor asked a series of outdated questions (such as those related to the inverted pyramid) and very few about modern journalism. He did not even have a cell phone and knew little about social media.
