I interviewed at Peace Corps (Washington, DC)

      Interview

The interview was conducted with three regional directors and lasted approximately 45 minutes. The questions were closely aligned with the responsibilities of the position, focusing on leadership competencies, management approaches, and decision-making under pressure. A significant portion of the conversation also centered around safety and security protocols, particularly regarding managing risk in challenging or high-security contexts. They asked for examples of past leadership experiences, how I would navigate team dynamics across diverse cultural settings, and how I would handle crisis situations. Overall, the interview felt structured but conversational, allowing space to both answer questions and reflect on broader organizational priorities.

      Question 1

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Peace Corps

      Interview

First round was with three Chiefs of Programming of Training. Asked 9 questions. The situational questions were mostly "tell us a time when you have done X" although there were about 2 of "what would you do in this situation" questions. There is a second level of interviews with country posts (Country Directors, DMOs, DPTs, Host Country Staff) and this occurs after you pass the first level with DC headquarter staff.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What is your understanding of the DPT position, how would you handle a volunteer who kept coming to you instead of host country national supervisor, examples of dealing with conflict and working across cultures, etc.
