      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PerBlue in Feb 2019

      Interview

I was given an online test and is asked to complete it. It is quite hard since theres a combination of IQ related questions as well as behavioral questions. There are also questions related to your desirable workplace. I think this is all about whether you are suitable or not.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      IQ pattern recognition test
      Answer question
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PerBlue (Madison, WI) in Jan 2020

      Interview

The process took me about a month to complete. The interview is well organized. There are some general behavioral questions and some coding questions that are of moderate difficulty. The people I talked to are nice and well-prepared. The questions for you are more on the practical side and system design side rather than algorithms. Knowing specific knowledge such as database and concurrency will help you a lot.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Basic SQL questions. How to optimize? How to store something? How to prevent injection? Concurrency: Deadlock, N process one resource, some concurrent system design questions. Behavioral: What would you take on a deserted island? What is the time when you used and trusted other people's code

      Application

      I interviewed at PerBlue

      Interview

The first step was a phone interview. The first in-person interview was easier/not too technical. The second in-person interview was quite technical and required coding in Java as well as doing a code review on sample code.
