I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Petrotech (Harahan, LA) in Nov 2018
Interview
The interview was three hours long and with four different people. I met with a HR manager, an Electrical Engineer, the Vice President of Engineering, and the President of the company. There was mix of technical questions as well as personal questions. I would say that there were more personal questions than I had expected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The circuits that a quartz movement watch uses to run is a technological advancement for the human race. The Antikythera mechanism was a similar advancement.
*Which one do you consider a greater advancement for the human race?
I applied online. I interviewed at Petrotech (Houston, TX) in Jan 2022
Interview
I was invited to do two separate hour long remote interviews back to back. The first person I interviewed was ten minutes late and noticeably unprepared (he did not have my resume on hand or even know what position I was interviewing for). The second person I was to interview did not show up. Later that day I was told she was “now ready for me” but I insisted that we reschedule the interview for another day. I never received a response to my rescheduling request.
As for difficulty of the first interview, it was pretty easy but that might be because he was so unprepared.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Petrotech (New Orleans, LA)
Interview
The HR department emailed me requesting an interview, they asked me the date and time. They called me at the time I told them, and asked me about my previous experience in research and went on detail through my resume, then they asked me what I knew about the job and what I liked about it, then they described the job to me and told me If I had any questions. I then asked them about training and they said they would call within one or two weeds.
