The interviewer was highly unprofessional. Previously, my interview was stated to be at 4:30 PM, however the interviewer gave me a late heads up that she was not able to make it and wanted to push it until 5:00 PM, which I was fine with. During the interview her attitude towards me was negative. She gave me a question and I started to work on it. I had an common algorithm in mind that I generally utilized for this type of question. The algorithm was heavily utilized in my courses. As soon as I started implementing it, she repeatedly asked questions which I understand is the point of an interviewer. So I tried constantly to explain it not only through the phone but also typed examples in the codepad to show her how it works which is still understandable since it is a difficult algorithm to understand at first. After doing so, she accused me of doing the same problem before. I responded to her by saying "I have not done this exact problem, but I have encountered this type of problem before and learned the algorithm to solve these types of problems". At the end of the interview, she asked me if I had any questions. I was interested in what games/products at Pocket Gems she was interested in. She responded, that this was not work related and proceeded to not answer my question. I also asked what the daily work life of a software engineer was like at Pocket Gems. She coarsely shrugged the question off and moved on to saying if I had any other questions. Very negative experience. I don't recommend this company at all.
