      I interviewed at Portillo’s

      Interview

What was supposed to be a 3-round interview turned into 7. While I appreciated the initial transparency, the reality didn’t match. After speaking with the recruiter, team members, the team lead, an adjacent colleague, and the director, it became clear this was disorganized. The team was kind, but the process felt dishonest and disrespectful—like I was being strung along. I was excited about this role and loved the company as a customer, but this experience has really tarnished that.

      I interviewed at Portillo’s

      Interview

I was interviewed by the recruiter, which went well. I then interviewed with the hiring manager, which seemed to have gone well as well. At the end, the hiring manager said that the recruiter would be in contact with me for next steps. I'm aware this does not always mean you will actually proceed with the interview process. But I did NOT expect it to mean to be completely ghosted. I even sent a follow-up a week after the interview and received radio silence. It's okay if they weren't interested in me. But to be ghosted completely speaks to their character in my honest opinion. I'm deeply disappointed by their ghosting, as I was led to believe they cared about people in the initial screening.
