Interview
An HR contacted me regarding a Data Scientist opening at Precima. He scheduled a phone interview with me which was just basic screening. I was then contacted for another round of phone interview with their Data Science team leader. This interview consisted of a mix of technical and logical questions. The questions were very straight forward and I think I did well but a week later I got a reject from this. When I asked for feedback it looked like they were more aligned to hire a PhD. candidate.

Interview
Precima is looking for people with specific skills suited to their business needs. Their process is well structured and quick (decision in less than 3 weeks).
My interview process had three steps:
1. Screening call (Asking for your background, salary expectations, etc.,)
2. 1 Hour Technical phone interview
3. Onsite interview (Critical Thinking, Coding, Personality fit, and Presentation)

Technical phone interview:
Assumptions of Linear Regression { VIF, multicollinearity, heteroskedasticity (what is it & How do you tackle it)}
What is dimension reduction?
Explain Bayes Theorem to a 10-year-old kid?
Compare NN to other ML models?
What is t-test? Interpret p-value?
How do you test relationship btw two variables using t-test in linear regression?
What are overfitting and underfitting?
How do you use the results of PCA?
Onsite:
Critical thinking - Time 3.15, angle btw hour and minute clock
Algae doubles itself in a second. It takes 1 min to fill a bowl, How many seconds to fill 3/4 of the bowl?
Coding -
White Boarding, Basic SQL (Inner Join), Fibanocci seq, etc.,
Personality fit - Basic behavioral questions
Presentation on the topic of your choice
The HR emailed me two months after we talked on a career fair at school, and made a technical phone interview appointment. Two data scientists talked me on phone. I have not received any feedback yet.
