      Associate Product Manager Interview

      27 Jun 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Product People in May 2026

      Interview

The whole process was very organised. Regarding the interview itself, it was quite dynamic. There were three people interviewing me. In the beginning of the conversation they introduced all three of them and how long were they in the company. Then they set the agenda and explained to me the test exercise rules and conditions and pretty much the entire process. The exercise has really tight time limitations, what makes it pretty difficult since you need to process quite a lot of information from scratch and start planning and making decisions without having much data. And after the exercise is over, there is a spot of time where you can just chat with the people, ask them about the company, the exercises, anything you want actually. Which was pretty nice.

      Question 1

They asked me to make a decision based on really low context and in tight time frame. I had to choose what will be the solution that will be developed for the next few sprints and how will I prototype it.

      Interview

The interview process is well outlined on their website, and there is a lot of information you need to know about the company on the FAQ Notion page. The interview process is fair, as the practical submissions are reviewed anonymously. One thing I liked about them is that even if you don't make it past the practical product challenge round. They still go ahead and schedule a feedback call with you, which provided me with good insights on the work I did. I will apply again after 6 months.

      Interview

I got a cultural interview very quickly after applying for the position. Unfortunately, I found the experience quite disappointing. It felt like the recruiter was not paying attention to me—at one point, she was even using her phone. I understand that the company aims to remove biases from the recruitment process, but the way it is implemented seems to strip away the human element. I felt like I was speaking to a robot, as there was no reaction at all to what I was saying. I’ve seen others mention that this approach makes the interview feel distant, and I’m surprised that a company that emphasizes feedback hasn’t addressed this issue. It’s a shame because this process leaves a negative impression of the company. I genuinely think it’s a great place to work and would have loved to be part of it, but the interview experience was not a positive one.

Thank you for your candid feedback. We're sad to hear about your experience. That's not the impression we aim to create, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We know this is a high-involvement process from both sides and aim to be kind and fair throughout. Our aim is to reduce bias, and we’re continuously working to refine and improve our process. "Fail gracefully and fix fast" is one of our core values, and we've shared your insights internally to help us improve. We’re glad to know that you still see Product People as a great place to work!
