The process was not as intense in my situation because Prospect Mortgage became the lender in a real estate office in which I had already been working. The previous joint venture ended, leaving an opportunity for Prospect Mortgage to partner with my office. In a way, the position was more of a formality. I just had to complete paperwork and submit it to corporate HQ. I met with management 2 times, before a formal "offer" was tendered. I already knew the compensation plan before they became partners, so there were no surprises.
