I was contacted by recruiting via email regarding a different role than the one I applied for due to being shy 2 years of experience required for the posted role. I was grateful to be considered for the alternative role and the recruiter setup a time for myself and the hiring manager to speak via video call. All went well and I was moved to a video panel interview with the team. I thought all went well, the team was very down to earth and I enjoyed the interview. A week went by without hearing anything so I reached out to the recruiter. I did not receive a response so I waited a few more days and reached out a final time. The recruiter responded explaining that they decided to move forward with a different candidate and said I should have gotten an email from Workday letting me know the position was filled. I didn’t interview for the same position I applied for so that email was not clear to my situation. I found it insulting and unprofessional that after meeting the team they couldn’t even send a warm email to advise that I was not selected.
