I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Purdue University in Aug 2014
Interview
Not too hard. Do well in the course. Express your interest to the instructor and/or department head. Also, make sure that you have good time management and organization skills since teaching assistantship can steal away from your academics during some part of the semester.

Interview
Interviewed for AAE teaching assistance position. Required preparation of a homework problem of choice to discuss teaching for 10 minutes, followed by standard availability questions regarding course load and commitments in following semesters.

Interview
Very laid back, just had a conversation with the professor to go over course basics and material. Began with asking why I am interested in position, go over course material and format, then go to how we can improve the course.
One behavioral interview was conducted in either a group or individually. Standard interview questions, such as strengths, weaknesses, failures, etc. Usually no need to worry about being tested on subject concepts.
