      Process Consultant Interview

      1 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New Delhi
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at QAI (New Delhi) in May 2016

      Interview

Weird interview ! The company appeared weirder !! 4 rounds i had over there. 1- HR, 2-Technical 3- Cant figure out what was it ( Someone introduced herself as HR but rather interviewed me for almost 1 hour on technical things. 4. The CEO who seemed like a person who considers himself " very important" interviewed me for one hour on my past companies, CEOs of those companies and what my roles involved in those companies. #3 and #4 were very similar and by the end of #4 i was starting to think, if i ll take all the troubles to move from a MNC to as someone truly remarked "a lala company". Some weird things i noticed. #1. the location gives you a feel of the ''daftar " culture from 90s. Its very close to nehru place market and is surrounded by stuff like immigration agency, tour & travel shops, choley kulchey wala, roads with mud and dirt. Very difficult to digest as a sight, if you have worked in MNC set-ups. #2. There is no security checks at the entry , you just walk towards the elevators and the guards over there most probably wont notice you. #3 Its hard to find out which is the entry once you reach the mentioned floor since its not mentioned anywhere. A small glass door where you can see a lady sitting inside and probably busy reading some magazine is the reception area. You need to knock over there and she will press some button and unlock the door for you. Only after that you can enter the company and state your business to the said lady. There is no other way of entering. Consider her doing that all day sitting there for all employees when they come in the morning or come back after a break. Tedious indeed ! #4 The entire company ( in Delhi ) is of about 1500 sq feet. with tiny meeting rooms, tiny cabins and tiny reception. If i remember correctly the reception had a 2 seater sofa. #5. Forget about policies, HR, grievances etc. They would certainly not have stuff like transport, food coupons or annual bonuses. I noticed the HR addressing the CEO as "The CEO" and not by his Name. Which says something about the work culture. It more looked like a brokerage firm which manages to get some contracts from mostly middle-east and makes money from these contracts by hiring resources and outsourcing them for long term.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They must have asked about 60 questions in 3 hours ( #2, #3 and #4 ) . Round #2 though was technical, the interviewer asked a lot of text book questions . These questions don't have standard answers because every organization is different and how they internally manage their processes is also different. Though he interviewed for almost 1 hours, it never felt like as if we are having a discussion rather i had a feeling he is deliberately trying to beat me by stopping my in between my sentences and asking cross question before i could even finish answering the previous question. he asked some ITIL questions e..g Service strategy, Availability management, Audit process, ISO 20,000 controls. Interview round #3 was by someone who believes " I am an HR and i know it all " She went through my resume and asked mostly technical stuff though i doubt she understood a bit of it. She kept nodding her head throughout with same expressions to all my answers. her questions were on my past companies, past roles, my area of expertise, my personal areas of comfort. some examples - What is IT governance, How metrics are collected and calculated. How It services are reviewed, a break up of my work experiences in individual ITIL areas e.g SS< SD< ST< SO etc. At the end, when i asked her to explain the roles and responsibilities of the profile they are hiring for, she could not explain it !!! Interview #4 by Mr CEO himself. A replica of #4 . I was expecting him to be interesting especially after the experience of round #3 but was disappointed once he started asking his questions and started writing stuff on my resume as if its a dictation session. After the questions he suddenly stood up and started to walk away. I had to ask him from behind" Errr Excuse Me X. shall i wait here or leave for the day " .
