The interview was scheduled through a consultancy after a month of coordination and was conducted by Mr. Shyam Dhanak and Ms. Priya Saroj. Although the discussion was originally planned for 30 minutes, it lasted for nearly 1 hour 50 minutes. During the session, I received positive feedback from the panel regarding my responses, as they mentioned that I was answering the questions in an excellent manner.
However, towards the end of the interview, I was unexpectedly asked about my caste. Upon learning that I am not Gujarati, the panel refused to proceed further with my candidature and abruptly ended the call.
This was a very disappointing and disheartening experience, as I have never faced such a situation in any of my previous professional interactions. I felt that my application was not evaluated on merit but rather on unrelated personal grounds.
I wanted to bring this to your attention, as I believe such experiences do not reflect well on the company or the hiring process.
