      Product Manager Interview

      2 Oct 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Nort-Leulinghem
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RS Americas (Nort-Leulinghem)

      Interview

I made it past the initial interview and was invited back to interview with the team which at the time I thought went incredibly well. I got in there and bonded with them! They asked me why I thought I’d be a good fit, pointed out a couple skills from my resume, and that was about it as far as “interviewing” me. This lasted probably all of 10 minutes. The rest of the time consisted of off topic things such as tv shows, hobbies, foodie and restaurant recommendations, etc. I was super excited thinking I had it in the bag as I’ve never had an interview like that where it felt like I fit right in and was already a part of the team. I was so sure of this job and even began looking at apartments in the area. Couple weeks later I was told they went with someone else. The recruiter mentioned that the GUY they went with was a better fit. I couldn’t help but notice there was absolutely no diversity and only 1 woman on the team and the rest were men so the fact that they choose yet another man was disappointing. I later realized that the reason they didn’t care to truly interview me and ask much about my work experience and skills was probably because their mind was already made up on this MAN so they basically just chose to use the time with me to “shoot the breeze.” I was crushed and am still disappointed to this day.
