I applied online. I interviewed at Raymond James Financial
Interview
My in-person interview was cancelled at the last minute after I booked my flight out of my own pocket. The company would not pay for my travel expenses to the interview, which I found very strange and unprofessional. I agreed to go to the interview any way, because I had good rapport on the phone interview with the hiring manager which I believed was interested in me, and I intern was interested in the position. I found the recruiters to be very difficult to work with and unprofessional. They did not treat me well. First, there were two different recruiters communicating with me, which I found to be very inefficient and confusing for a candidate. One of the recruiters kept emphasizing via email and on phone conversations, that the company would not pay for the flight to the interview, nor relocation. I agreed and scheduled the interview at a time when the flights were reasonably priced. One of the recruiters accepted my proposed date and scheduled the meeting. She never gave direction on a particular window of time during which the hiring managers would be interviewing. A week before my interview, I received an email from the other recruiter saying that my interview had been cancelled because the position was offered to someone else. This is AFTER I purchased my own flight to Tampa for the interview, which the company would not reimburse. I found my experience with Raymond James to be very unprofessional overall.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
I only had a phone interview and did not have any issues with the interview itself. My concerns were about the experience with the recruiters who arranged the interviews.
