The process began with an initial interview, followed by a take-home assignment. The take-home was unusually extensive and required highly specialized work, more than what’s reasonable for a preliminary evaluation. Given my decade of experience in the industry, I completed it confidently—albeit a day past their very tight two-day deadline.
Unfortunately, I received a rejection without any discussion or walkthrough of the submission. To be candid, I wasn’t deeply invested in the role and completed the assignment somewhat half-heartedly over three days.
Interestingly, two months later, the position remains open—which isn't surprising. The expectations were unrealistic, and it raises the question of whether they were ever serious about hiring in the first place.
