I sent in my resume in the mail and received a phone call no later than a week later about an open part-time position to complete the obituaries for the daily paper. I was asked to come in for an interview no more than three days later, was given a brief tour of the facility and overview of the job, and sat down with two of the cheif editors to discuss my interest in the position. Since the job was part-time, there was really no discussion of a negotiable salary or benefits, which I was expecting. After confirming interest, I was basically given the job and asked to start the next week.
